DM203 STORYBOARD AND CONCEPT: CHARACTER LINE-UP SHEET
Once individual Characters are designed it's important that they play well together. The Character Line-up is a way to insure that all of your individual character designs contrast and compliment one another. This is your chance to compare things like shape, silhouette, and scale to insure that they work as an ensemble.
To do this all of the characters must be laid out horizontally on a single page with scale lines behind them (kind of like a police line-up). Feel free to draw your characters on separate pages and use Photoshop to combine the line-up on a single page.
- Use this process to to compare things like shape, silhouette, and scale (you can use them to compare color later on in the process).
- Drawings should be readable but not overly refined.
- Characters should be arranged in a single line
to allow for accurate comparisons.
- Drawings can be done separately but should be arranged onto a single page in Photoshop. Feel free to experiment in Photoshop with scale relationships.
