This one started out as a woodcut attempt but I realized I had too many questions about lighting…light source, shadows, mid tones, etc. So I decided to paint it in gray tones to see what I would get. I suppose at some point I’ll get around to doing the wood cut but in the meantime I’m really happy with how this turned out.
I really like those flowering branches. The broken line and suggest flowers are great. I like the shadow cast onto the grass too, nice.
