
Still pluggin away at this woodcut thing. I created a few custom brushes in Photoshop and that has helped to increase my range of texture. I have a feeling this is going to take a while to get down. In the meantime…here’s a tree.

In the meantime…here’s a tree. ![]() I have three films I’ve been looking at to help me develop a woodcut…ish approach for animation. Each one takes a different angle so I thought I would try at least one illustration in each and see where it takes me. This one is the closest to scratchboard than the others and I really like [...] ![]() Here’s another attempt at woodcut with Painter. I thought I would have more luck with a much busier image. This was always one of my favorite Sunday school stories. Especially the part about stoking the oven so hot that it toasted the guards who threw them in. ![]() Here’s an attempt at a woodcut look with painter. Where’s that woodcut button when you need it! This is an image I did a while ago for Drawer Geeks. The theme was “When Animals Attack”. Rikki Tikki Tavi from Kipling’s Jungle Books came to mind immediately. The image itself was done in Flash over a pencil sketch. ![]() So here it is Painted in Painter. This is only my second time using painter so hopefully I’ll figure out what all the fancy buttons are for. Right now it’s kind of nice to have access to some color. |
